You NEED Video Marketing To Stay Relevant

You need video marketing (or you’ll be left behind).

It’s pretty much a requirement to be successful today in business or in growing any sort of online presence.

My most recent podcast episode features a conversation with Mike Cuevas, the “Real Estate Marketing Dude.”

In this conversation, Mike shares how he knew he needed to stand out when he got into real estate years ago.

He didn’t want to do cold calling or door knocking, the things that people said you “had to do” to be successful.

So he started off with direct mail. And then he added the video marketing component, which he’s stuck to ever since.

“What I like most about video is that it eliminated me having to do all the stuff that I hated.”

The thing with video (and even audio) is that people can consume content at their own pace and leisure.

When people hear your voice and see your face, they become much more familiar with you overall.

You are able to build trust and rapport very quickly with complete strangers.

Have you ever had that moment where you meet someone you look up to for the first time, and you feel like you already knew them from all the content you’ve consumed?

Yup, so have I. THAT is the power of video marketing.

People get to know you without ever having met you.

And when that happens, they’re more likely to reach out to you when they need help with the thing that you do.

If you’re hesitant to make video, I get it, we’ve all been there.

Maybe you don’t like the way you look or the sound or your voice.

But trust me, once you get started and get into the habit, it gets easier with time.

Check out the episode and let me know what your main takeaway was in the YouTube comments section.

The realities and struggles of entrepreneurship with Schuyler Diehm

Not everything is at it seems

With social media these days, it’s easy to paint a picture of a certain lifestyle. Many people only highlight the highs, and they skip past the lows.

Of even worse, some people portray living a life that really isn’t theirs (Lamborghinis that aren’t theirs, fake watches, etc.).

In this conversation, Schuyler Diehm and I really dive into realities and struggles of entrepreneurship.

Show up every single day

Sometimes, things get hard. Money takes longer to make. Impact seems to be insignificant. Everything you’re working so hard for can seem like it’s for nothing.

But you have to keep showing up every single day, and even if it feels like it’s not worth it, you are changing and improving for the better just by showing up and more importantly, by doing the work.

Hitting 6 figures at 19 with Conor Watkins

Conor Watkins was not your ordinary teenager. While most 19 year old kids are running around, staying out late, and partying, Conor was getting to work.

He jumped into real estate, particularly on the apartment locating side, and was doing six figures within just one year.

2 years later, he still does some apartment locating, but has also branched into flipping homes.

Check out the video

We cover a lot in this episode. One really powerful takeaway is that while it’s never too late to start, the earlier you can start, the better.

Another thing to note is that Conor first approached the real estate business like a 9 to 5 job. However, he soon realized that he had to treat it like a business. Simply checking out at 5pm was not going to cut it!

Overcoming adversity and doing whatever it takes with Ben Naumann and Conor Watkins

This week’s episode covers a discussion I had with two friends and real estate investors in the Houston, Texas area.

Conor Watkins discovered sales when working at Best Buy. He knew he wanted to do sales and eventually found his way into real estate. He quickly got traction on the apartment leasing side, where he was doing up to 30 transactions in a month after only one year.

This got his buddy Ben to take getting his real estate license a bit more seriously, and soon after, Ben also jumped into the game.

They dive into some of the highs and lows, wins and losses they’ve faced since starting off.

Perhaps the lowest point was when the brokerage they were doing really well with decided to send them a cease & desist letter and refuse to pay them tens of thousands of dollars of earned commissions.

They didn’t let that stop them, and they’ve continued to push towards success nonetheless, even partnering on several deals together.

Why Hamza Ali left Dubai to pursue real estate in the USA

I had the pleasure of sitting down with Hamza Ali, whose story is an amazing example of the entrepreneurial journey and pursuing a dream.

Hamza left Dubai looking for opportunities. He first ended up in California like many others do when coming from overseas. However, he quickly realized that the cost of living and starting a business was quite high.

He then decided to move to Katy, Texas, where his aunt lived. He realized that he needed to “follow the rooftops” because where new houses were being built, that meant opportunity.

He bought some land and started to develop a commercial property.

Within four years, he had finished the project and successfully gotten the occupancy rate to over 90%. He then sold the asset, giving him the confidence to move onto bigger and better deals.

Hamza is now getting started sharing his story on social media, primarily on Instagram and YouTube. You can follow him and learn more by searching “HtownHamza.”

Protect your ideas and intellectual property with Leela Madan

In this week’s episode, I share a conversation with a Houston-based attorney and business owner, Leela Madan.

Leela started off as many business owners do, working under firms. She worked her way up and eventually left to create her own firm, Madan Law PLLC.

Leela’s biggest challenge so far has been staying profitable while growing. One of her favorite “wins” was hearing from a large office that they wanted to work with her. She jumped for joy for a moment but of course buckled down to get to work!

Be sure to listen to the full episode, and reach out to Leela if you have any questions regarding protecting your intellectual property.

You can contact Leela or learn more by visiting www.Madan-Law.com or follow her on social media by searching @madanlaw .

The Law of Deservedness with Dr. Patrick Wanis

In today’s episode, Dr. Patrick Wanis and I discuss several things, but the highlight for me was the topic of the “Law of Deservedness,” a term he coined several years ago.

Check out the YouTube video

Basically, we can start to see success or accomplishment in any area of our lives. But if we subconsciously feel like we don’t deserve it, we will self-sabotage or play much smaller than we should.

Listen to the podcast episode

This is a phenomenon we all experience. We start to think that we aren’t qualified for that promotion, or maybe that business deal is too good for us at this point in our business.

There are several techniques we can use. You have to have hope, resiliency, and optimism. Set a goal, and believe you can actually achieve the goal. All of these things connect to your subconscious beliefs about what you deserve in life.

Make sure to listen to the full conversation to fully take away all the value Dr. Patrick Wanis shares. You can learn more about him and the Law of Deservedness at www.PatrickWanis.com .

YOU can impact the world (yes, you)

You have the power to impact the world. Yes, YOU. Right now.

It’s easy for us to get caught up thinking “what can I do? I’m just one person.”

Well, let me share a cool little story that will show you how much impact one person can really have.

Check out the podcast episode

My girlfriend and I were recently volunteering at an animal shelter.

Coincidentally, when we got home, we heard a little meowing / crying noise. There was an itty bitty kitty underneath the porch stairs at our house. It was probably just a few weeks old.

Hungry kitty!

The thing barely fit in the palm of our hands.

I’ll be honest, I thought it was cute but wanted to shirk off responsibility and wasn’t sure what to do with it. My girlfriend, Gabie, insisted we bring her in and take care of her for a few weeks until we could find a permanent home.

So we did. Within a few weeks, she probably doubled or tripled in size! She became super playful, learned how to pounce, and even got along with our two cats and German Shepherd.

There’s a powerful quote I’ve heard and love that is so relevant to this:

“To the world, you may just be one person. But to one person, you may be the world.”

What would have happened if we left the cat out there? Maybe she would have died in a few days. Maybe she’d be starving and constantly looking for her next meal. But now, she has a totally transformed life!

Joining the soccer team

It also inspired me to see how quickly that cat’s life changed. That kind of massive change is possible in our own lives. You are one connection away, one deal away, maybe even just a year away from having a life completely on another level.

So yes, we all have the power to make massive impact. Even if we just positively impact ONE person or creature, it’s all worth it.

Your voice matters, use it!

Mya has a new friend

Your voice matters, use it!

It has been so cool to see the impact my podcast has been having. So many listeners have written in or sent me a DM on Instagram telling me to keep it up and how they’ve taken huge action in their lives.

In fact, I wanted to share a really cool message I got recently from Brooks in Harrisburg, PA:

Good evening Chris.

I just wanted to write you quickly to thank you for your podcast. Yesterday I made that leap to achieving my dreams for my business. I have been working roughly about 2 1/2 years now on starting my brewery. The timing of things never seemed right until now that i quit my automotive career which i spent the last 17 yeas of my life in working for someone else who really didn’t give a damn about me or my family. So now with the support of my loving wife and two sons I and going full time with the brewery. We received our occupancy permit from the local township today and are looking to close on a taproom location in the next couple weeks.

Your podcast which i listened to everyday to and from work(for someone else) really kept me focused on the goal and that with the right planing and drive that it may be a leap but your wings are strong enough to soar!!..

Keep up the great podcast and I look forward to the future ones. And if you are ever in the Harrisburg PA area let me know because the beers are one me!!

Cheers!!!
Brooks

Wow. I’m so pumped to keep up my podcast especially after these kinds of notes.

So with that said, go out ye of infinite potential and positively impact the world! You never know who is listening or looking up to you… so make sure to set a good example.

Why Ginni Saraswati loves podcasting so much

In today’s interview, Ginni Sarswati shares why she loves podcasting so much.

There are many pros to podcasting, one being that it is the preferred method of consuming content today. It’s convenient as we are all on the go and constantly short on time.

Another huge benefit is that people really become loyal and start to feel like they have a connection with you. After all, you are in their ears, literally.

Empowering Underdogs with Zachary Babcock

Zachary Babcock’s story shows the power of discipline, mindset, and a true desire to change.

In a conversation with him, he shared that he was a bit of a “knucklehead” growing up. His father passed away when he was a young boy, and he got mixed in with the wrong crowd.

He ended up serving a few years in prison and finally decided enough was enough.

He started getting into self-development and working towards bettering himself. He started a podcast that jumped to Top 200 in the first week, and he’s had the opportunity to rub elbows with and even interview millionaires.
